Just because Cartier went above and beyond, doesn't mean that Patek Philippe offers "terrible customer service" just because they didn't match Cartier. And there might be a small difference between a lighter and a watch; although yes, I do agree, the principle is the same. Lastly, if the the warranty on Patek Philippe states that to and from shipping is covered, then a charge should not be charged. If there is no such mentioning, then one cannot expect to not be charged.
