we don’t know the whole story, but I can’t see that people are saying the dealer is wrong. I see people sharing their views and expressing their feelings about their expectations.

I think it boils down to communication (and policy). I tend to agree with the approach that the boutique should have mentioned why shipping is being charged.

But at the same also, if the alleged defect is indeed under warranty in my view the shipping should be free of cost and therefore refunded. And that could have been part of the conversation by the boutique as well (if part of policy).

If the alleged defect does not fall under the warranty, then yes, I can understand the shipping charge a bit better.

For what its worth… I didn’t pay for any shipping for my Lange which had a defect on the dial; it was bought at a dealer (first owner) and send back to Germany via boutique in SG.
