Hello all,
Sorry for the quick response as I am going on 2 hours of sleep (we've had a L.A. area GTG for a great friend and PuristS that visited, the Aston Martin RAPIDE event ( www.network54.com ), and a kabillion other things.
There is much debate about the validity of Limited Edition pieces but that should be for entirely a different post. I appreciate everyone's opinion However, IMO many here are missing a few vital and important points.
Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, CEO Jerome Lambert, and the Beverly Hills Boutique staff should be applauded, recognized, and respected for this LE. Why? Simple.....The local Beverly Hills/L.A. area fans WANTED this watch and JLC created it for them. As a fan, you can't get any better than that.
Back in April 2009 when JLC CEO Mr. Lambert visited the Beverly Hills ( jlc.watchprosite.com
) area, the locals were vocal and persistant in requesting this piece. It was amazing that Jerome Lambert actually listened to the
desire of the local Beverly Hills/L.A. enthusiasts. He also explained to them that certain things were possible while other design elements were not. I found it impressive that Mr. Lambert was very candid with those in attendance and that JLC fans around the world have someone at the helm that pays attention to it's fans. Also note that these 2 pieces are due to arrive in hand around June 2010 so from concept to delivery is another impressive feat by JLC.
IMO, too many are basing their opinions on computer mock ups and haven't seen the full details yet. Please understand that this event was not made available to the public but only to those that desired for this watch. JLC Beverly Hills Boutique decided not utilize the normal media/press avenue as it was not intended this way. The public only got to see this because team members of PuristSPro were in attendance in the capacity of a enthusiast/collector instead of a photojournalism/press/media and thus we were able to share with everyone here. I pestered the BH Boutique staff to email PuristsPro during the event the high resolution photos (found here: news.watchprosite.com ) even though they were so busy. Please be patient as we point out features that DO make this a interesting and unique enough to truly be worthy of being labeled 'Limited edition'.
Thanks, gotta go, more pics of the event on the way!
