Since I started this watch game I always wanted to have only one watch, however I never found the perfect one mostly because of the quirks they had, and I couldn’t tolerate at the time.
Then as deeper I got in the game, I believed that more expensive is the way to go. Over two decades passed by, I expected lots of brands, luckily in New York one can touch and play with almost all brands/models without buying, so I realized that things that were important a decade ago are not important to me anymore.
Reading the responses, it’s interesting to see that a one watch for most has to be a crazy expensive piece, that most wouldn’t wear anyway because of the fear of scratches, Or the fear of theft.
To me it’s like a piece of art, nice in the gallery but no need to own it. Most of them are not worn anyways, just for Instagram pictures...
I practiced the exercise twice, and sold my entire collection.
last time a bit over a year ago, due to the negative opinions by enthusiasts who can’t get them, but I overcome it and I learned that I like the brand way to much, for everything they do, that I had to have it back and continue collecting it.
But to end my musings and answer your question, for me it can be easily the Rolex Batman.
It fits in every environment, the rotating bezel can be used as a chronograph(not that I time anything that often), tough as nails, it delivers all its promises, and lastly, if it’s good for Roger Federer, it’s good for me too!🤣🤣🤣
So I think, it all boils down to your stage on the rollercoaster...
Best,
Zsolt.
