I couldn't settle for one watch at the present time. This might change but as of now, no, I need the variety

Perhaps this is because I'm a promiscuous dabbler and view monogamy in watches as needlessly restrictive. I don't know.
There are too many qualities in too many watches that I want to savour, and it would be difficult if not impossible to find them all bundled into one. I have about 35 watches now, with only four instances of double dipping in the same maker.
I like well-designed, inexpensive watches. I like my pricier ones too for the obvious quality of one or more attribute. Colours, shapes, materials, finishes, movement types, etc. all appeal on account of difference. Then there are matters of horological, industry, historical and personal significance. I like watches I can knock about. I'm also fond of the delicate little things that I seldom wear (not that wearability is the be-all-and-end-all of my ownership experience - far from it).
I'll be happy to report back if this changes. In the meantime, can I just say that one watch does not a collection make, unless we are also comfortable saying "a herd of cow."
