TimeOut

Another shiny gold brother…

LOL, pplater, you sound like you are apologizing for the ‘clarity’ of that little shiny disc. I have heard several MFSL versions of DSOTM and they generally sound excellent. Guthrie also did a great job on the 30th Anniversary remaster and the vinyl pressing of that is my current reference (although there was variability in pressings with some having significant surface noise). It is more ‘alive’ than even the MFSL UHQR, but the SACD is a bit ‘tinny’ at times with the vocals mixed quite forward.

I just hope the DSOTM master tape is well cared for. I wonder what technology will reveal in 100+ years time on those tapes. Roger Water’s thought processes perhaps?! With Rick Wright’s passing last year I am saddened that I will never get to hear the PF line up that I grew up with (I had some hope after they reformed for Live 8).

A GTG is always welcome, but there is always so much to talk about! Hardly get past food, wine and watches. If the Stones ever tour here again we might be able to entice Art to make the trip down under for an Oz PuristS GTG. That would be fun.
