Nothing has changed, but everything has...

Your use of capitals to underscore your distaste was not missed Art - “Reduction In Force” is an euphemism on a par with “Collateral Damage” for the extent of its callous inhumanity. Doubtless its use assists cynical corporate robots to forget that it is humans who are ‘outplaced’ as an organisation ‘downsizes’ in order to ‘consolidate resources’. There is a terrible human toll associated with this unprecedented  meltdown that is ignored amidst the deluge of charts, graphs, records and statistics: we become desensitised by endless babble about losses and bailouts of telephone number proportion.  Meanwhile, another thousand, ten thousand, hundred thousand families toss and turn wondering how they will survive tomorrow’s New World Order.  If somehow we are not all touched by it already, we will be before long.

On a less gloomy note: you are looking as well as you did in the original thread two years ago. In that sense, little has changed. However, does the alteration of your role mean that you are to change your name from “Dr No” to “Dr Maybe”, perhaps, or Dr How Much???”
