. . . by our music. Rock can trace it's antecedents back to elements from blues, soul, gospel, and country music, but it was forged in the development of the technology of the times . . . both the music and the culture would never have been possible without the advent of solid-state electronics, which made for concert performances that were hitherto impossible. In other words, I don't think it's just the music, which I still find as compelling now as I did then, but also the cultural and technical context in which 'our' music was crafted . . . cordially, Art
