Violence is never right

There is something very wrong here as most of us agree. However if bumping passengers has to take place, surly that is done before the formal boarding an aeroplane? It certainly happened to me that way in Paris. Otherwise checked-in baggage has to be removed and the flight likely delayed.
Once you are sitting on the passenger seat in the aircraft, your right to fly has been confirmed, unless there are other unavoidable factors such as malfunction of the aeroplane, adverse weather, air traffic problems etc that prevent movement.
What was wrong here and in my view UA no excuse, was that all passengers had boarded and it was only some employees that needed (wanted?) to fly. If the employees were so important (eg they were crew required to fly a delayed aeroplane elsewhere, then with no volunteers, UA should have chartered the employees separately. No if’s, no but’s; UA were too late to disrupt its already boarded passengers in this case. I hope the doctor sues for assault and that the many witnesses will support him. Atrocious behaviour by airport staff.
If UA had thought they had the legal right to remove a refuser, then UA should sue the passenger in court for the resultant costs of delay. Resorting to violence is never correct.
