...an element of voyeurism in looking at art inked onto the body parts of others - but (sincerely) of the best intended kind: a frisson of vicarious derring-do and an admiration of sorts of the courage necessary to undertake such a permanent (and painful!) process. To the uninitiated it's fascinating! So fascinating, indeed, that our local teaching hospital used to keep preserved specimens of tattoos in a macabre gallery within its anatomy lab.
