TimeOut

Hello gentlemen :-)

When we love watches, learn about them, hunt them and enjoy them,

when we use the Internet as a key medium to fuel our passion,
there’s no way we can miss this place.
I must admit many questions led me here and at some point, I realized I was coming here just for the thrill.
I believe it is now time to keep up learning and start contributing.

I’m glad to know some of you, for the others my collector pseudo is Noodia, my friends call me Laurent.
I’m nearly 45, I live in Paris downtown, I’m married, I have 3 children.
I’m a long time collector of many things from vintage vinyl LPs to classic cars through contemporary design furniture to name a few.
Unusual items have often my preference, style is always a key factor to me.

I started taking interest in watches some years ago and focused on vintage chronographs.
After some attempts here and there, I've discovered the vintage Heuer from the mid 60s to the late 70s period. They’re very rewarding to collect to me as many of these watches have strong stories. On my "Heuer way", I found many others reasons to pursue the journey (quiet common right ? I guess many of us have pretty good reasons to pursue our journeys, this is at least what I say to my spouse...)
Universal Geneve is another brand I focus on, the constant quest of the brand for wrist elegance just made it, their in-house calibers which powers their complicated and later automatic watches is a step of my evolution as a watch collector I suppose.
Some others are in my sight and, from time to time, I don't keep off some dream watches which pop up.
Although I’m mostly a vintage guy, I also feel attraction for some contemporary high end watches, L&S, De Bethune, Uhrwek are some of them but I have no hurries to get into these, admiring them and listening to passionate enthusiasts fullfils what I need on this side at this stage. Collecting requires time and work, I need to respect a path of evolution to fully understand and enjoy each watch that I'd love to own.
Something that really amazed me when I started getting interest in watches compared to my other passions is how well are organized the communities over the Internet, how passionate, knowledgeable and friendly many collectors are. I‘ve been lucky to meet many of them these last years, it’s been a real treat !
Passion, sharing and friendship, this is all what it is about, I know I’ll find it here, make sure I’ll do my best to entertain them.

 Best to all of you,

 Laurent
