Thank you Mark, a very nice review!
I like my 3712 so much that sometimes I'm thinking that I should also get the 5712. Real stupidity from my side!
I just came from Lapland and had my 5711 on my wrist all the time. On my previous visit I had my 3712. I have huge problems to decide which one I like more...
What comes to the movement of 3712/5712 I would simply say that for a semi-sporting watch it is very nicely finished. I have much bigger issues with i.e. 324 in some Calatrava models or 240Q in models like 5140P. Taking into account the price range, one could expect more.
Best, Kari

and the Nautilus anniversary ? Yes maybe, I know Patek can perform a great move on the Nautilus side. I think It was Kari who mentionned a 2 hands ultra thin 5711 and I must say it could be really cool. Or a 260 based Nautilus but I don't think they will....

I think with your natural tact you've perfectly summeraized what I think. And you're right to say what I could want is quite different from most of traditional brands customers are looking for. Getting 5% better finishing is really not something that is w...

Mark, thanks so much for this review. From an education standpoint with regards to the beveling work performed on the bridges, with a loop, what exactly should we be looking for? Thanks so much.
Well,

Without wanting to make too much comparisions, you can see that the polished edges of the main bridges show little vertical lines (kind of grooves) and are not completly flat. You only really see it with a loup (the picture I posted is really highly zoome...

My first Patek was a 5711G, gray dial with strap. On the black crocodile strap gorgeous watch that could be worn at nearly every occasion. With the synthetic strap less elegant but far more easy to wear 24/7 and great for summer and beach. I would recomme...

Yes the Nautilus series is quite hard to resist and choose from. But seem like you agree with me that 5712/1A flies just above when it comes to choosing 1. However beyond that I find sooo many on my wish list. But personally inclined to go for strap as br...
Why are you laughing?

It seems that Patek try to limit the availability of the most wanted Nautilus. The most difficult to get is 5711 in steel and with blue dial, the next one is 5712 in steel. It's much easier to get i.e. the annual calendar. Take a model like 3712. It was n...

the feeling is special when we get our Nautilus back on the wrist after a break. You must be very happy of your 5726. It is a Nautilus I like a lot. Still happy with your 5726's white dial? And is it balanced on the wrist or is the higher weight making th...

For sharing your thoughts with sincerity and objectivity, something really rare nowadays. I can confirm all your concerns about the finishing of the movement, which is not a 240 prerogative neither is for the 5712 but you'll find this level of finishing i...

Hi Mark, Thanks for the great review. I am a young man about to finish law school and my mother wanted to get me a nice graduation gift. We decided on the Nautilus but I'm now leaning towards something with a leather strap because I will be wearing formal...
