Bold because Patek is combining a moon phase and a pointer date in a diving, sports watch. The previous attempts to offer these complications in a classic design were commercially not that successful as this one has proven. Maybe AP was a inspiration for ...

on the handcraft part. The nautilus strap is one of the hardest to work, and the human intervention is mainly here. As well as in the finishing of the case. Now you are right, that the level of finishing of the movement isn't the top of the top of the ind... 

The issue of handcrafting which troubled me a little was really focusing on the movement side and I forgot to mention that the handcrafting of the bracelet is perfect to me and hence wasn't concerned about my remark. Glad you mention it so I can emphasize...

Without wanting to make too much comparisions, you can see that the polished edges of the main bridges show little vertical lines (kind of grooves) and are not completly flat. You only really see it with a loup (the picture I posted is really highly zoome...

Yes the Nautilus series is quite hard to resist and choose from. But seem like you agree with me that 5712/1A flies just above when it comes to choosing 1. However beyond that I find sooo many on my wish list. But personally inclined to go for strap as br...

Its a sports watch. So its nice to wear with a metal strap. The 5711 / 5712 are elegant sports watches. My opinion hope this helps. Best Geross

I like my 3712 so much that sometimes I'm thinking that I should also get the 5712. Real stupidity from my side! I just came from Lapland and had my 5711 on my wrist all the time. On my previous visit I had my 3712. I have huge problems to decide which on... 

Maybe we can wish you remain unable to choose between the two! As for the finishing matter, in regards of the price range, I would say I agree with you when the watch enters the PC's area but one could also say that T€. 27 is already a nice price tag. Any...

It seems that Patek try to limit the availability of the most wanted Nautilus. The most difficult to get is 5711 in steel and with blue dial, the next one is 5712 in steel. It's much easier to get i.e. the annual calendar. Take a model like 3712. It was n...

Recently, I saw the difference in Patek's quality again when I took my 5726 from the bank, after 1 month....because I was wearing my other watches. I can hear a "wow" voice inside me, like the first time I held the watch during the purchase, under the sun...

For sharing your thoughts with sincerity and objectivity, something really rare nowadays. I can confirm all your concerns about the finishing of the movement, which is not a 240 prerogative neither is for the 5712 but you'll find this level of finishing i...  

Personally, I don't have any problem with the bracelet size or the crown, but every wrists have a different shape and we maybe don't wear the watch the same way. Thanks for the comments :) Cheers, Mark

In fact, I was telling my strong preference for the 1A more for aesthetical reasons and the work needed rather than because it is what Sporty watch is about. The curosr of the strap version is indeed a little less on the sporty side, thus, a little more d... 

What do the senior partners in your law firm (or just about any law firm) wear while they're at the office? If it's a watch in the Patek family I would think they'd wear the most simple, restrained, and uncomplicated Calatrava in a size 36 or 37mm size li... 

I used to work at a law firm and my boss (owner) was very into watches. He had an AP Safari, a gold AP RO, a diamond Cartier and an IWC Portuguese. But yeh, I think it's important to them to wear something that shows status.
