Great review even if i don't agree...
on the handcraft part. The nautilus strap is one of the hardest to work, and the human intervention is mainly here. As well as in the finishing of the case.
Now you are right, that the level of finishing of the movement isn't the top of the top of the industry, but imagine if it was 100% hand finished, you would pay twice more for the watch ( as if its not expensive enough ).
In french you would say " couper un cheveux en quatre"
For a sport watch, i'd say its even too well finished. But its a patek, and its supposed to be a sport chic watch more than a tool-sport watch.
As for the rest of the review, i love it! I hear you on not having too many watches, as i hate as well to "under wear" my watches. Even if i rotate on a daily or every few days my watches. I like having around 10 watches, that are fulfilling all i am looking for, and wear them all more or less equally.
The strongest point of the 5712A is that it hits all the spots. Its super comfortable, slimmy and almost melts on the wrist. Unless you are wearing a tux and black tie, it will work in any situation. Its the kind of watch you would keep if you had to give up on all your watches except one.
As always when i read your post on 5712, i feel like getting it badly
Thanks for the good read
