At least my post leaded so some insights and answers. Good thing! And somehow re-establishs my believe marketing departments know their job.
As for the unknown 'big collectors' they attend websites like this and come back with open questions via privat channels. Believe it or not - to use this overstressed phrase.
You know, I helped Zaf to create the JLC book, did not get any dime [besides 5 book copies] as a return on invested time and money in buying documents and traveling. Am I happy with the book? No not really. But at least it is truely not driven by influence.
I always tried to set JLC's history of watches straight, clear and transparent. Therefor I play the role of 'devils advocate', not that I like it but somehow think it is needed to keep a balance, especially in times of 'embedded journalism'.
Our moderator did a couple of historic mistakes, I tried to correct them, and there is the point where I doubt the intentions of the very source from time to time. My personal archive is for sure a joke compared to JLC's but even this fraction of knowledge can often proof the error.
Nico, I never wanted to insult you, if I did so, please accept my apologies.
From my view I close the discussion and will not attend this topic any further.
Cheer, regards and good luck!
I.
