While I agree with most, the JLC forum is sponsored, right?

Dear Baron,
I fully agree with you that personal critics are not the right way to express a different opinion. But we live in a world which asks for more transparency.
Regarding the relation between the JLC company (and/or Richemont) and this forum, do I assume right that JLC pays a fee to have a dedicated "brand forum" and that this fee is quite substantive, let's say something around USD 100'000 a year? This was the reason for instance why FP Journe finally left this site, right? Nothing bad at all about this. I fully understand and respect that an internet site has to earn money. Additionally the forum is free for its members therefore the money has to come from somewhere.
Assuming the above is correct, JLC must expect some sort of return on investment, right?
The moderator therefore has to find a way to stay true to his opinions (and be/stay credible to the audience) and also be "gentle" to the brand. It is obviously problematic, at least like embedded journalism.
Best,
Goldenlutin
