Also, to be clear, the "minimum prior purchase history" requirement for an application piece is determined by Lange, not by the point of sale, as far as I know. For example, if you want to buy a stainless steel Odysseus Datomatic, Lange says you have to have a certain minimum purchase history with the brand. I don't remember exactly what that minimum requirement was for the SS Datomatic, but I recall that it was higher than just one basic Saxonia or 1815, and it was centrally determined by Lange.

1. Upgrade brand perception . 2. Reduce availability of high end models on the grey market. 3. Steer customers to boutiques where they can see models in the metal. 4. Better visibility over demand. I'm sure there are others.
