Thank goodness you managed to alert the police but I am not sure why the criminals were released so quickly. It might be an idea to invest in a good alarm system for your home, one that connects to a central station or a police station.

When you deal with the bureaucracy and paperwork, stop and assess what happened and why. Was it truly random? Was it a six standard deviation event? What is the likelihood it might happen again? Situations like this make the homeowner feel violated. It's ...
