Horological Meandering

I'm new to this thread and have a question

My father recently passed away and just a few days ago my mother gave me an old watch of his. It is a Longine automatic ultrachron. I was doing some internet research  on it and was lucky to have discovered you. You seem very knowledgeable on the subject of ultrachron watches.

My mother said the watch was purchased 30 to 40 years ago. The case is "silver" in color and says on the back 14k gold and "use 1260 wrench". I have seen references elsewhere to 18k gold ultrachron watches but nowhere have I seen 14k. It has a sweep second hand and date. It does not say "swiss made" at the bottom of the dial. Your reference to the ticking sound caused me to listen to this watch and it is quite audible and going a "mile a minute".
Though the watch has sat idle for many years, I wore it yesterday to get it going again and it seems to be keeping time well. The dial is silvery-white and has a pearl sort of appearance in that when looked at from an angle you can see green and pink irregular shapes. The 6, 9, and 12 hour markers are each three tiny diamonds forming sticks.

Does it sound like a genuine Longine? I only ask because of the absence of the "swiss made" designation. Under any circumstances, I will keep it for sentimental value and intend to replace the aftermarket metal band that it has with a nice leather band that it was probably meant to have.

If there is any interest on the part of the posters on this thread, I could post a picture.

Thanks,

Craig
