i'm not a Longines expert myself, but i know Andrew will ask the same as
i'm going too.
 
can you post some pics of the watch please, as close up as possible on the
dial and caseback that will give everyone here something to work with.
 
just to help you a little, 14kt was very popular in the US market at that
period, just as 10kt was. UK liked 9kt and 18kt and the rest of the world liked
18kt so it was probably made for the US market or to be more precise, cased in
the US much the same as Omega's of that period were. due to the import
restrictions on precious metals a lot of companies sent uncased movements to the
US where they were cased by their US suppliers.
