Thanks for the comments, Ian. Pleased to hear that your Ultra-Chron has been so reliable. My feeling is that all the high-beat movements should be regularly maintained and if so they perform very well from both wear and chronometry perspectives. I would love to see some photos of your watch. You could start another HoMe thread if you wish, as I know there are a few Ultra-Chron admirers and owners amongst PuristS.
The automatic winder on mine seems to work OK, but perhaps there is some wear or friction inside the case. It is fine when I wear it on my dominant arm, so perhaps I just need to move around more!

The ultra chron was a real revolution for its time, it was very accurate and elegant as well. However good luck for finding spare parts when you need to repair one, that is not easy.
