Partial pressure of oxygen at 300 ft is limit of tolerance
May 15, 2018,14:38 PM
For someone who needs adequate oxygenation of red blood cells, the partial pressure of oxygen reaching the red blood cells at 300 feet altitude must have been at the limit deemed acceptable.
At higher altitude and lower cabin pressure, the partial pressure of oxygen never reaches high enough for adequate oxygenation of the red blood cells for a patient whose respiratory circulatory metabolic systems are compromised.
Down side is the slow aircraft speed, poor fuel economy and reduced range.
