The Seiko Sealion was Dad's everyday watch . . .

 

. . . from '66 'til '04.  In all that time he had it serviced once.  After three botched service attempts over nineteen years it's finally running half-way decently, well enough to wear for several days at a stretch without being too far off.

If Dad knew how much time, effort, and funding went into resuscitating his Seiko that cost him $40 in 1966 . . .






. . . he would just shrug his shoulders and sigh.
