Vacheron Constantin

That's like having an opinion and then saying you don't care what other people's opinions are...

I wouldn't say you're wrong, as the brands have totally been awful, but I would say you're being a tiny, little-bit, just a tiny amount stubborn. Keep in mind, you shouldn't blame ONLY the brands! It's also the massive hordes of consumers whom during the pandemic decided that life is short and you only live once... And decided to splurge on beautiful things they always wanted. Like watches! And indulge in their favorite hobbies. Like watches again! Oh and those darn speculators! They turned this thing into an asset class. So that's why the brands had the ABILITY to raise prices. So blame the people too! It's the mass market behavior that enabled the brand's behavior. The rest is just economics, price positioning (if I sell a product that is equivalent to another brand, my product can't be too much cheaper than that other brand), and other basic concepts. Oh. And don't blame the watch companies. Blame the whole luxury accessories and jewelry industry! A Gucci camera bag went from $800 in 2019 before pandemic to $2400 now!
