Same debate i had just recently
practically my WT would fit the purpose to track multiply timezones but just didn t want to take the risk and the hassle having a gold watch with me with no WR,i brought a Daytona and i m happy with that choice.

Yes, travelling with expensive watches can be unsafe. Doesn't matter whether it is 5-star hotel. Employees have sharp eyes, even when you wear a long sleeve shirt and a jacket.. For myself, I usually travel with a steel watch (Rolex, Tudor, Longines, VC)....
