It’s a really good question, Mostel

My initial reaction when the pandemic arrived, was that I was done with buying watches, but at that moment it felt like we where at the end of the world.
Then, as my bank closed completely, I got all my watches out of the vault and had them with me during the lock down. That led to a really interesting experience.
I started thinking how much I could get rid of and not be unhappy. It was probably 60-70%. Having the pieces at hand I tried to give them all some wrist time. Some of them I fell in love with again. But have have selected about half. These will either be sold or traded in to other pieces. I have decided that if this is the situation, I will not put new money in to my collection. The hobby has to pe paid with the existing watches.
The exercise now is to have fewer pieces. 10-12, that I can’t live without. Then I may do the exercise again and reduce further. I only Wear one watch at a time. Quality must go up and quantity down.
When all this is said, I did place an order two days ago that will hopefully arrive next year. (I don’t wish to say what it is) but I will soon start selling to pay for that piece. I still enjoy the hobby and part of that is the journey of hunting and letting go as my taste and knowledge evolves. I just want to do it with more sense and with the perspectives I learned through this period.
