Horological Meandering

I understand the frustration (?) from some. I am critical as well but what would you do if this was your own business that you built from the ground up? I would cash out as well, take the money, let someone else run it and still stay in control or be involved and set up projects like this. Clymer changed watch journalism, so he deserves this.

You see it all the time, someone starts something out of passion but passion doesn't pay the bills. So a product that was pure develops into something different, people don't like it and start looking for the next original thing. It's a shame obviously, but it's the way it is.

I think Ben Clymer will eventually leave Hodinkee in 3-5 years and become a watch consultant, work for big auction houses (Philips watches) or something along those lines. Or even become CEO of a big brand.
