we just want some honesty. And many here and around the world would like a chance at a steel VC Chrono. Hodinkee claimed not to play games. They deserve the calling-out they're getting.

Everyone had a chance to get one I think...some did. By this thinking everything is dishonest e.g. Lange releasing the 1815 Anniversary Platinum as a boutique edition (or many other brands). I don't think there is any game: they had an idea and took it to... 

Or at least the past couple years. Heck I browse the VC's entire catalog and this chrono is probably the best among all other stuff they have. And me personally, I feel bummed out that VC decided to do this with an exclusive group of friends and readers o... 

Joe's initial point is correct-Hodinkee should disclose their financial interests in brands they review. And my point has been that this is nothing new with Hodinkee. They don't just blog anymore; they try to be players from all sides-hawking watches, str...

For us customers this product is almost purely emotion based. But for the manufacturers it is in the end a product that needs to be sold. And there will always be a minimum turn over needed in order to survive and/or please the stock holders/owners, etc..... 

I understand the frustration (?) from some. I am critical as well but what would you do if this was your own business that you built from the ground up? I would cash out as well, take the money, let someone else run it and still stay in control or be invo...

The math tells me that BC can clear and likely clears 7 figures right now as part of Hodinkee. And he gets incredible access to everything great in the industry. You believe he will take a massive paycut to be a watch consultant and not be his own boss? I... 

No idea what the current arrangement is and how much is still his, but I also don't think he will completely sell all of his shares. Then again, if the offer is big enough, why not? I really think he will take a backseat though in the near future. Which m... 

Please remember that the freedom to engage in this type of unbiased exchange is exactly why Purists is so invaluable. Kudos to the mods for letting people say what they mean.

I must say personally that the discussion is (aside from being interesting) made with all the selfcontrol and respect for other's opinions that we appreciate. It is constructive and how we like disccussions to be. We appreciate the message and it is anoth... 

funny and sad how difficult it is to find reading comprehension and an openness to opposing thoughts go hand-in-hand. I read everyone's comments and I enjoyed the arguments and I understood the opposing viewpoints.

I think nobody is expecting total independence, be it an online magazine, a blog or even a forum like PuristSPro. I expect that people that write about watches also have a passion for it and have some personal preferences or favourite brands. And yes, per...

Some day, some day ... we will get another watch without a date (done properly like the Purists Chopard Chronograph) and on that day we must be loudly grateful. In the meantime we all dig and compile, and compare and collect - both information and opinion...
