Thanks! I just hope that i dont bore anyone.
I must say that the Rolex sport watch prices have gone up to a rediculously high level now compare with many years ago. In those days, most sports watches were affordable. Moreover, watch collecting was easier then as there are not so many mark 1,2,3,4,5 etc dial variations. I started with Rolex explorer at US$800-1000 and those days Bubbleback and boysize watches were THE watches to own. In order to buy these boysize watches, many dealers will often "forced" us to reluctantly also buy the sports watches. Now, its the complete opposite! I often wonder whether slim and smaller sizes watches will ever come back??
Now, instead of buying watches, I often spent time searching for dials to upgrade my existing watches. Just managed to find an earlier Rolex 5508 gilt (serviced dial) to replace my 5508 matt service dial. The process has taken me 3 years to hunt for it and the learning process is fun as I have seen three types of 5508 T25 service dials..
Hope everyone is having fun in the vitage watch hobby...
