Rolex

A lot...

a) It has to be a statement and recognisable

I don't know and neither i don't care what is statement and recognisable, i cannot answer on this point.

b) To be usable in all business settings (suits)

Any ultra thin watch is usable in suits, there is a very long list i won't start

c) to have some versatility for non-business

"Versatily" in what sense? I wear Patek and Breguet with jeans and sneakers, but i don't go to break stones with them.
If you intend "versatile" in the sense you can wear well in suits like with more informal dress i could say any contemporary watch can do it with very rare exceptions, if even a Rolex submariner is considered as a "perfect" dress watch (i don't think so but i guess i'm one of the few...)

d) same price

Very, very long list.

e) automatic with date

I will take apart all the vintage watches as you wrote you prefer new watches.

A very short list from the brands should be (so they say...) statement and recognisable

- Audemars Piguet 15202
- Patek Philippe 5711 or 6000
- Vacheron Constantin Overseas
