you are obviously...
looking for an argument but I am not. My question / survey was precisely to see what else people would buy with this budget.
I love to hear about other people choices and I am genuinely curious on what makes a certain watch special to some.
I am well aware that many snobbish members rejects rolex as inferior cheap movements and that is not a problem for me. I simply invited you to learn more about the innovations that rolex continuously brings to the market, last but not least the caliber 3255.
Your argument about thin movements is very superficial. JLC and even omega are very strong in this department so just thinking that a movement is superior because is thinner is well, naive.
Do you really believe that if rolex wanted to build a ultra-thin watch they couldn't? They didn't by choice and not because they won't have the horological know-how to do that.
Initially I was thinking that you wanted to have a reasonable discussion but your continuous innuendo about the DD platinum having only the bracelet as a difference shows that you are apparently not every interested in that. Did you ever build a case (not just a bracelet) from a platinum block ? There is no price difference between steel and gold as there is no steel day date.
I am sorry if this would come as a surprise but You don't really hold the universal truth about which watch is best. Trying to feel superior because with the same money you would have bought two overpriced steel watches proves nothing other than different taste and preferences.
Oh and BTW remembering the movement number in your beloved watched doesn't make you more knowledgeable in horology.
Why does PP charges more than twice for the same model, e.g. the nautilus, in gold ? is the price of gold really a good justification ?
How about the RO15 202 OR ? The price is double. Oh right. Don't tell me. Everyone buying the gold version of these watches is a fool because they simply pay double for the gold bracelet
Every watch company is selling watches to make a profit. Making more exclusive models in precious metals is perfectly fine. If you don't like this you are certainly free to buy the equivalent version in steel. Oh wait - there is no DD in steel and in case you wonder no, the DJ is not the same
