Patek Philippe

Thanks for the further details Christian

I understand better your case now.

It seems that there are more problems on you watch than it should. As I said, I've been well taken care of by the Parisian Salon. I imagine (just a guess) that they can have a specific power for their clients (which you are not considering the Geneva Salon but still).

What I would suggest (but maybe you don't have time for that and will just leave it as it is with your own AD) is to go to Geneva's Salon and explain your problem. That's what I would do with a watch having these problems.

I've read here a few cases about members who had a problem with their watches and who came back saying that Patek participated or even arranged the problem for free.

Hence, I noticed in the past that Patek is really doing what it can (if it is reasonnable) to do more than just saying "under warranty ok, otherwise it is no".

That's what I would do.

About servicing delays and warranty length, I think that it might be a required evolution for the future. I think that Patek watches (as most other brands) are very reliable. Now, is the construction of such movements can allow such a warranty? That's a question as improving it (just thicker parts maybe) may have a significant impact on size, weight, timekeeping etc... It is not that easy to implement imho.

The interesting thing would be to have the real statistics of the watches that need to be fixed under the warranty period or within the 4 next years (Patek has 2 years plus a free service from Salon at 3 years, with an additional 1-year warranty for the servicing which is quite good I think today).

We have indeed a view on this on forums but how much do they represent compared to the output? Less than 1%? More? Impossible to say. Thus, it is dufficult to say what needs to be done.

Anyway, new commercial standards could lead to improving warranty periods and that could be cool too of course from a client's standpoint.

Now, the delay is something that needs improving and I hope the new building will bring the right solution.

I hope you'll get your watch soon and fixed smile

Best, Mark
