Patek Philippe

i do sympathise....

.....i think thereis clearly some luck of the draw factor involved. I can only talk of my own experience and that has genuinely been fantastic. Whereas with other manufacturers, it has generally been very poor. I do agree with you that longer warranties are needed across the industry. I think with Rolex, it is slightky differemnt as Rolex just doesn't do grand complications and so the risks to a watch going wrong are different. But in principle, it is hard to argiue against longer warranties from a consumer's perspective.
Idea...... we are all against flipping watches. It annoys genuine collectors a great deal. So perhaps Patek should consider a 5yr warranty to the original owners of a new watch. If you are the original buyer, then why not give 5yrs? If it gets flipped, it loses that warranty to a standard 2yr. just an idea.
Regarding your point about servicing....yes....i agree. If a watch needs something small, a full service is just annoying.
I hope that Patek remedy your issue to your satisfaction
Best
Joe
