Patek Philippe

Hi Mark..I still like the Nautilus very much...

but I am in Zürich so very close to Geneva. Don't think the location is the issue here. The issue is not power reserve (sorry if I wasn't more specific) the watch simply lost 1 hour or 2 then it stopped completely. So winding (by hand or any other means) was useless. The date story is a different one..I should have perhaps brought it during the warranty period but with many watches in a rotation I just didn't bother. The Nautilus movement is not a complicated one so I wouldn't see this to be very different than Rolex. So to me the only reason not to give a Rolex level (5 years warranty) is reliability. Beauty vs. reliability here has to be taken into account. You wait years to get this exclusive models but then it is not really what you think it will be in terms of quality and warranty.
If we want to talk about precision that is also inferior than the +2 -2 seconds provided by Rolex (PP Seal -3/+2 seconds, Advanced research would be on paper better than Rolex at 1/+2 per day) which I have to say it would probably be less on PP as you can't even set the seconds precisely (no hacking seconds).
I am not making a big drama out of it or say that I would not want to wear it anymore...just stating the obvious here. To me every luxury company should now align to the new normal which is longer warranty and faster turnaround. If you can't service such a simple watch in a reasonable amount of time what is the point ? you wait years to get it and at the first problem another year to get it back.
