Patek Philippe

Thank you for your generous comments my friend and fellow co-moderator!

There are some hard requirements to be a Patek Philippe dealer - a failure in these hard requirements results in MAJOR POINTS LOST, and will likely mean that their franchisee status will be in jeopardy. There are some requirements where there is some flexibility - and you get some points if the retailer succeeds in meeting those requirements.
DEFINITELY, if any watch retailer/jeweler wants to have a chance at success, being a Patek Philippe dealer IS THE SINGLE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO A JEWELER. A Rolex franchise can also be EXTREMELY LUCRATIVE. You're definitely right about that. I can't imagine if I were a jeweler to have any other brand as my top choice in my product portfolio. But too many retailers have been taking the Patek Philippe franchise for granted. And now this shake up will put everyone on alert. Unfortunately, there's always some collateral damage too; we've already lost some very good retailers already and the shake up is only halfway through!
But after the dust settles, we will hopefully have a good situation for all! ADs, collectors, Patek Philippe, and most important of all JOURNALISTS! I'm JOKING with that last bit, we journalists don't get anything from Patek Philippe. In the past several years I've gotten a scented candle and some chocolate.  But I'm very fortunate to have been able to see so many amazing watches from this amazing brand!
