Patek Philippe

He is a very nice individual indeed...

Miki Eleta is a real guy.  Nothing over the top.  But real.  Genuine.  Nothing flashy.  He once took me to lunch, in his garden.  We foraged our own berries, mixed them in yogurt, he started a little fire in a fire pit surrounded with rocks, put on a metal grate, and grilled our sausages.  His wife made a lovely elderflower water that was just heavenly - so fragrant, and sweet.  After our luncheon we went for a little hike in the hills of Zurich and just chatted the afternoon away.  We stopped to see the birds.  We then took the water ferry just for a ride, not specifically to go anywhere.  Then walked back to his atelier and we ate some chocolate.  Miki likes chocolate.  70% dark.  I gave him a piece of 99% dark chocolate and he didn't like it.  I had given him a bar of the 70% and a bar of the 99% in addition the opening one of each as well - since he didn't like the 99% one, I traded him another 70% dark version.  He liked the 70% dark version so much that I gave him a few more bars.  I had bought 2 kilograms of it in 100gram bars.  So I had 20 bars!  Plenty to spare!  Took the rest home.  I think I still have a couple left!  Miki is a great fella.  And a talented artist.  No pretention at all.  It's just a beautiful object, he likes making them.  He's only made 42 or so clocks in his career so far.  He's about 70 years old.  Nearing retirement.  So there probably won't me more than a few more pieces.  Six or seven clocks are in the hands of royalty.  What a wonderful and lovable fella.
