Given the history of timepieces Patek has created and its impact in the industry...

I would take the liberty to put 1 model per 'range' of complication...

Sure there'll be Patek collectors who would add more insights than this but if I've to choose 'one Patek' - it is going to be one among these...

  • Calatrava : 5196P - albeit small movement, overall a very refined, classic designed timepiece - I personally would consider it as the quintessential Patek.
  • Complications : 5960 - almost every version of it would work. Personal favourite is Pt Blue dial but Steel white dial is sporty and like wise the WG Blue dial version is flamboyant too. First automatic Annual calendar chronograph of the house, the finish of the movement is tastefully done. Overall value for what it offers.
  • Complications World-time : 5110 - Pt is the best but then there are no wrong choices. The best WT IMHO, period.
  • Grand-Complications : 5970 R or P - of course we can break the bank for a MR or Tourbillion but personally I consider this reference as the Grail - even 'exit timepiece'. I could say, even Patek couldn't replace this reference successfully again.

thanks for the post, it allows to walk through the thoughts in a serious way.

Best,
Mahesh.,
