Because of Miranda's (reasonable) recent post... I want to be tactful and respectful, as we should be here... I mean to say that many of Patek's pieces are 'absurdly under-creative' relative to their price. (This is an IWC? Montblanc? Zenith? Sinn...? with a high level complication in this case, essentially) I mean to say that this is recently somewhat de rigueur for Patek. Look at the brand new chrono--it's a Zenith/ IWC/ Sinn/ Zenith/Montblanc. BTW, I LIKE ALL THOSE BRANDS... BUT... So I call it the 'PP absurdity paradigm' to encapsulate the (for me) ridiculously absurd value-proposition (vs. originality/ creativity/ vs the old Patek value that made sense) They are currently responding to the casual-jeans and T-shirt, wealthy buyer who has not been traditionally their buyer--so now according to the 'Patek absurdity paradigm'--a dressed up blue dialed Sinn chrono is 70K plus watch... People will say all brands draw creatively from other brands... but... Patek shoudl be PATEK. Only because you asked, Nico!

The price is quite extraordinary which explains why Patek has classified this watch as a grand complication instead of merely as a complication. The price is too complicated for me!
Which is why I think that owners of Patek chronographs
are short changed as a Patek Chronograph is classified as a Complication and not a Grand Complication. Not sure why.

Bit unfortunately a stretch for my wallet. Also platinum 42.2mm is likely a bit too heavy for my wrist but I think it is a top top cool release. Bravo!

at that price point it is a no go for me.... there are simply too many alternatives up at that level that would place themselves ahead in the queue
A wider comparison could also bring two other pieces into the picture...

It has all gone a little haywire, as have I, having switched to an Apple Watch and canāt find any compelling reason to give these new PP trinkets a try. Still have a mechanical collection, but mostly older pieces now.
