Patek Philippe

"Ambivalent leaning towrds the negative"....

...is exactly how I felt about it too the day befire I bought it. Having said that, with no Nautilus at all in my collection and the ability to try the 5711a immediate, I was tempted to listen to two of the wise men who told me that this watch is special.
I think I have also had another factor of collecting reinforced in this process.....and that is that there are rarely ever any absolutes. One person's treasure is another's garbage. The endless list of psychological factors that drive us to make a purchase make it so, I think!
Modern versus Vintage. Yes, this year has had a very distinctive modern twist. I think I like the idea of my collection being half modern and half vintage....so I still have some way to go on the modern input. 5131P will arrive next year. Still one or two vintage pieces I am looking for as well. But yes, 2017 has been more about the modern.
