I know what you mean

Mine only has an electric motor but it still looks good from the outside. At least this Patek isn’t Quartz.

You forgot A.,Just kidding Indeed the best way of being able to tell if you like a watch or not is to live with it,Even seeing it at an AD and trying wouldn’t give you the full forward to hear how it feels in a while. Best, Ahmed

I sat this afternoon to a coffee shop in Helsinki, took a cappuccino and checked the latest posts using my iPhone. I found it very surprising that you bought 5711/1A and as surprising that I had this on my wrist: Surprising. Why? I do not much wear my Nau...

It was a great watch that didn't last 6 months with me; logically it looked great, but I didn't miss it on my wrist. Picked up a 3800/1 and this is the Nautilus for me, with it's mid-sized sensibilities.
Thanks Keks

Two months ago, let’s say it was not in the plans. And yes, you are right that I am lukewarm at best on Nautilus as a reference historically. At the same time I think I try to evaluate a watch by more than just reading about it. I really feel that to know...

......I think you are thinking about my 5970p, if i am correct? Portholes.....yes, I do not like them. And I know that some people think that the 5650G has two portholes.....this is a common misunderstanding. The 5650G was from the advanced research team....

.....I think I see myself as trying to develop a good and balanced Patek Philippe collection. A big part of my curiosity in delving into the 5711a was the recognition that I did not have a single Nautilus in my collection. In retrospect, had my AD not bee...

Good comments and thanks for taking the time to consider it. I do think there is a responsibility to discuss watches that we own that disappoint. When every single watch is "oooh, ahhh, wonderful", then a proper evaluation is always going to be hard. I th...

Great though provoking write up. I have three nautilus with the forth one arriving in Aprox a weeks time. I love the three babies but agree with you about the 5650g. Although I haven’t seen a 5650g in the metal yet but hoping to see one over the next four...

.....yes, I do know what you mean about the 5650G. When I was pushing to get mine, it did feel like running into a wall a lot. I wish you the best of luck in finding one. I have got a huge amount of joy from mine. Thanks for your thoughts about the Nautil...

Dear Joe, I really enjoyed reading through your feelings and thoughts about the 5711. Unfortunately I have never tried a nautulus since each AD I visit seems not have one. So from a feel point of view I cannot talk. But when looking at it I can say that t...

Glad to see you here. Yes.....your comments to resonate for me. As a collector, I see my collection as having gaps and the Nautilus is most definitely one area where there is a gap. Only time will tell if the 5711a fills that gap. Thanks for your wrods an...

Baron, I enjoyed reading your post. I have been wearing a Nautilus for 15 years. I think it's the watch I've worn the most. I bought the 3710/1A way back then at what today seems like a crazy price (around $8,000). I think it's the Patek I have that's app...

....I think your post demonstrates an interesting aspect to collecting watches. We are all so different with literally dozens if not many dozens of variables affecting what we like in a watch and how important each of those variables is will also differ. ...

Skoda is an outstanding mass produced car, also very common. Just like 5711. Nice design, very well made but nothing special in the engine room. At the same time 5650 is rare, full of new innovation combined with fantastic design. Wearing 5650 is as comfy...
