Offering another perspective

These artisanal watches are made in very limited quantities (from 7 to 30 pcs annually per manufacturer) and they appeal to people who value hand-finishing and/or handmadeness. Each dress watch has approximately 2 ounces of gold and given the retail price, it has very little to do with the case materials but more the hours put in by watchmakers to polish the anglage. There are plenty of other watch brands that do not hand-finish their movements and it does mostly reflect in their more affordable pricing. These artisanal watchmakers offer something different in the market which is great for collectors who want that something different. I'm glad the likes of Akrivia, Simon Brette and Petermann Bedat are around today. It can't be bad having more choices.
