Interesting question
I wouldn't say that I'm a person who is easily swayed by opinions etc. However, due to the wealth of information and experiences of PuristSPro members, I do keep an open ear (or an open eye) to the opinions of other PuristS.
So far, I haven't made any acquisitions. But I've definitely been introduced and exposed to some truly unique brands that I would consider acquiring pieces from. For instance, I had never really seen a Philippe Dufour nor Kari Voutilainen until I attended some PuristSPro GTG. I learned a lot about these unique independents and I now feel that I have enough information to make an informed decision of whether or not I should acquire one if the opportunity arose.
On the other hand, some member's comments of certain watches have lead me to be more scrutinizing and careful. For instance, the reliability of watches from certain brands has caused me to delay an acquisition until the technology is more perfected.
PuristSPro definitely influences my decisions, but it's not due to influencing my opinions, it's due to the increase of knowledge and appreciation that allows me to make better informed decisions.

For me, it's been primarily watch forums

Nothing beats the expertise of a trusted watch friend. Some of us are generalists (like me), other heavily specialize. Always good to surround yourself with people who know more than you do. I am always learning new things.
