Finding a good vintage Swiss travel clock is a fun watch hunting experience..

I had been looking for one for a while. I saw many inexpensive german or asian made ones. Not worth fixing up really.
But about 5 years ago I was searching in an antique store in Petaluma and came across the strangest thing. It was a Seth Thomas travel clock, but the dial said Swiss and 15 Jewel. Priced for a pittance, I bought it immediately.
Turns out it has a Stolz-Freres/Angelus 390 movement in it.
I had a local watchmaker repair and service it.
I would wind it once per week and kept it on my desk. I got tired of it and was planning to sell it. But my wife liked it and she has it on her desk at work.
For me the thrill is finding something that others have overlooked..
