I agree with Nicolas,
It is very difficult to perfected a watch that already perfect.
They do not want to go to far from their direction,which also increasing the value of vintage.
If they reproduce the Vintage, people also leave this territory and Vintage will diminish.
Very heavy dilemma and difficult decision to direct the company as they can not please everybody.
Anyhow, the result of modern is still promising I believe, they are still world leader, and most profitable watch company.
People still buying and collecting Modern watch more than ever, (like me and despite they understand watch or not)
With lean manufacturing, they use machines for any watch. this is the key of Rolex success.
Therefore their approach are give more value inside the watch,
better hairspring, better movement, better steel grade, which make them ultimate toolwatch compare with others.
and I still believe that Rolex is the best and honest watch company in terms of value, design and machine
you will not find any other watch at this quality and price.
So the question is
Is modern rolex will be vintage in the next 20 years, and what will happen with vintager rolex

I own modern too.... so I am not totally anti-modern....there are certainly modern Rolex that i love. But ..... I love them because they are wearable versions of vintage that I dare not wear everyday.

There are two Rolex watches I love a lot: The Rasta Milgauss and the Yachtmaster. And for once, they are not really to be considered as re editions, clones of their Vintage sisters. They are, and that is very interesting, some fresh and inspired products....
YM has no vintage predecessor whereas the Rasta has the vintage Milgauss which..
