It is a fair and valid point that many people want and like having modern tribute Rolex....watches that have teh same DNA as teh vintage but the advantage of being affordable and having modern technology. I have done it frequently nyself, and do see the logic.
Haing said that, the fact still remains that Rolex should STILL be looking to push the envelope on developing new exciting tool watches AS WELL AS reproducing tributes to its historical glories. I don't think I am saying that Rolex should just stop producing its current reproductions. More, "come on guys, produce something new and radical and exciting...something that makes us sit up and NEED to buy one. Something that repositions Rolex as the maker of the best and most reliable tool watch in the world."
Really enjoyed reading the different perspectives on this...many thanks to all of you. Soe great perspectives.
