There is no way that watch should stay wrapped in plastic and live in a safe!
I remember being at a Patek novelties preview event several years ago and they had some vintage pieces on display amongst the new releases. I was doing a quick scan through the display boxes and literally did a double take after catching a glimpse of a 5004 they had brought along. There is something special about the proportions of that 36mm case that isn’t present in the current larger models.
Ok I did something I hadn’t planned on. I took out the box, cut the sealed plastic

How long had it been under wraps?
Just thinking about life as I get older and no guarantee of
tomorrow. Asked myself why am I saving it? For whom? I won’t sell this watch so what difference does the change in value potentially make?

It really wears great! It doesn’t feel small
at all and I am so mesmerized by looking at it that I don’t even notice what size it is. I do love the hamburger type case also. Thanks!

There aren't a lot of 5004Gs out there, but here's an older brother who is already 26 years old. You can see how yours is going to age over time with a nice patina. This is one of my all time favorite Pateks, and I bet you're gonna love it! Congrats! ...
