Thank you Joe for a truly extraordinary review of the "icy cool" 5131 platinum!
It would be hard to imagine a more eloquently stated, detailed, passionate and convincing argument that the 5131 1/P is the most alluring and important of the four 5131 references. Yes, the bracelet might be somewhat controversial but it should not be forgotten that in modern Pateks, bracelets are often reserved for some of the most exclusive watches e.g., 5004 with tachometer dial. Aside from that, the bracelet, "noblest metal" and top of the World view all set it apart from the rest in the the boldest way. So, I think for anyone who cherishes the 5131 reference, the platinum is the ultimate one to have and someday I hope to acquire one. Best, Patekova

I see the watch as pushing an extreme.....and I like it. Maybe it reflects a little on my own personality, but when i finally looked at it for what i see it for...I fell.

But I tried this watch on yesterday and its weight suggests it is only wearable occasionally. On a long haul flight, it might no be the best option as it might exceed the hand baggage weight limit! Lovely dial, I really like the snow on it

There is no weight issue as yes lighter than my 5711P 40th and I FI TT even notice it on my wrist.
When I get mine (lol) I am taking the bracelet off abd putt g in a strap. Simple solution and not worth the angst

Thank you for the review. In my opinion the bracelet is absolutely necessary to cap-off the collection of metals. It provides an extra degree of distinction that the platinum version of the reference deserves.
