When I made the same, based on official statistics, with PP prices both in Switzerland and US, the curves looked even worse.
My idea was to find how long an average man had to work to acquire a PP chronograph in 1950 vs. today.
As we do not discuss prices or values here, I will just comment that the current prices are totally insane and also taking into account that in 1950 nearly everything was made by hand, the current prices are not justified.
I reflected also the prices against the salaries of watchmakers and the results were the same.
