.... to an article from Hodinkee www.hodinkee.com y The article does differentiate Gen 3 and 4 by way of the serial number. Seems appearance wise, there is no significant or consistent differences unlike the Gen 2. thanks for sharing.

Patek Philippe: PP3970 Gen 3 and 4

Hi PP experts, I would like to know how do you tell the difference between 3970 Gen 3 and 4. The Gen 2 is straight forward since the dial uses ‘stick’ hour markers. So far I’ve seen photos of Gen 3 and 4 having similar identities eg markings on the side of lugs instead of under side...etc. Could som
