Let me make a guess:
These watches, 4 x 5 pieces of 5070 will go to the best clients of Patek Philippe. Another issue is how they will define "best clients". Probably that is also the reason why PP has not been communicating at all about these watches.
My guess is that they wanted to show the watches in London in order to get the reaction from the people they wanted to get the same. After that the watches were allocated.
I am also sure that the watches went through the Salons. Without knowing anything, one guess would be three of each trough Geneva, one of each through Paris and one of each through London. At least I would have done so. And according to my limited experience the people in the top of Patek are pretty sane.
Imagine if they would have released 4 x 5 of the original reference numbers. Then the owners of 5070P would really had a reason of being upset. Now there are just five 5070P-013 and just the original number of 5070-001. Everybody should be happy; especially the owners of the rarest of 5070.
